Ancient greek fashion
There wasn't much variety in Ancient Greek clothing. They mostly wore large rectangular sheets fashioned in many different ways. Most clothes were made of wool, and colored red, yellow, brown, and sometimes blue. They also were decorated with many patterns and borders. Two main types of dress included the Doric chiton and the Ionic chiton. The Doric chiton was a simpler and more traditional dress. The Ionic chiton was wider and a little shorter than the Doric chiton. Women wore their hair in a variety of different styles, and men sometimes wore hats, especially if traveling.
Ancient greek food
Greek food was very different than what we often eat today. Most people ate wheat and barley products, such as bread and porridge, and vegetables such as onions, beans, and cabbage. Meat was expensive, and fish was rare, but sometimes people ate goose, chicken or pork. Food also was often flavored with different flavors such as honey or olive oil.
In Greece, people would have parties at their houses, or symposias. These were large feasts where only men were invited. The men would get drunk, sing songs, and play games. Women and young children were not allowed to attend. The other time people would feast was at religious sacrifices.
